Adding harddrive to raid 5
hello everyone,
I have a Dell Poweredge T410 with and upgraded H700 raid controller, I currently have a raid 5 configuration consisting of 3 total disk in slots 0,1,2. They are all 4tb hard drives, i want to increase the current storage size by 1 additional hard drive, I purchased another 4tb hard drive shut down the computer installed it and booted it back up went into the raid configuartion using Ctrl-R and i can see the unalloclated new drive below my current virtual disk but i do not understand how to add that into my current raid without data loss.
side note: current virtual disk is no where near max capacity, I was just unable to populate all of the drives prior to creating the raid 5 and as i accumilate more drives i need to add them to the virtual drive.

Ok, first, some best practices:
To add the drive to the current RAID 5, 1) you can only have ONE Virtual Disk across the disks in order to add another disk to it, and 2) you need to RECONFIGURE the RAID 5. You can do this in OpenManage Server Administrator in Windows - Storage, PERC, Virtual Disks, Reconfigure from dropdown, select the disk and the RAID level, then Execute.
