Available raid disk space
Hi all,
My Poweredge 2950 has 2 disks in raid 1. It show "Available raid disk space = 139.75GB". Initially it had 2 disks with 450gb each. 1 had problem and was replaced by another one of 600gb. Now the other of 450gb spoiled and was replaced by another of 600gb. How could I take advantage of these 139.75GB available without having to format the server?
Thanks,
Marco

This is all dependent on your RAID controller.
If you have the SAS 5/6, then you cannot use that space without backing up, deleting the array, recreating a larger array, then restoring from backup.
If you have the PERC 5/6, then the only way you can utilize that space is by creating a second VD across those disks using that space. It will appear as a 139GB "disk" in the OS.
