Breaking RAID 1 array in SAS 6/iR and using it in flat mode
Hello everyone,
is it possible to use my 2 hard drives currently setup as a RAID 1 array in non-Raid mode, I need to configure my server to use the two hard drives. The controller used is SAS 6/iR.
Thank you in advance.

Yes, the SAS 6/iR supports non-RAID ... simply delete any existing IM's or IS's, then leave unconfigured.

Does it work in RAID mode? Whether RAID or non-RAID, you still must have driver support for the controller.

Thank you for your reply, I tried this however the OS (linux CentOS 5.x) is not recognizing the new device (fdisk -l) neither it's appearing on the boot screen.
