Can RAID and JBOD be used at the same time with the PERC H755

Hello,

There are SSDs and HDDs in the same Dell server, and I want to create a RAID 1 for all SSDs and configure JBOD for all HDDs, while enabling remote encryption for both SSDs and HDDs with an external KMS (KMIP). Is this possible? Thanks.

Yes, it is possible to configure both RAID and JBOD simultaneously on a Dell PowerEdge server equipped with a PERC H755 controller.

Steps to Configure:
Access the PERC H755 Configuration Utility:

During server boot, enter the PERC BIOS configuration utility (usually by pressing Ctrl+R).
Create RAID 1 for SSDs:

Select the SSDs and configure them as a RAID 1 volume.
Enable encryption for this volume and specify the external KMS (KMIP) server details.
Configure JBOD for HDDs:

For the HDDs, set each disk to "Non-RAID" mode (JBOD).
Enable encryption for each JBOD disk and link it to the same external KMS.
Verify Encryption Settings:

Ensure that the encryption keys for both the RAID 1 volume and JBOD disks are managed by the external KMS.
Install the Operating System:

Proceed with installing the OS, ensuring that the encryption drivers and KMIP client are properly configured.
