CERC SATA RAID CONTROLLER 6 + big disks

Hi

I have a dell PE 1800 with CERC SATA RAID CONTROLLER 6 .
Now i want to add 2 big disks.

Is't possible to use 400 GB drives or is there a 250 GB limit per drive?

Thanks in advance for any help!

here is my experience:

all attempts to low level format my 300gig drives failed (using the 6 port CERC SATA card shipped with the machine). at times, all drives would register in BIOS, with the stripe set (configured with the CERC utilities) functioning as expected. unfortunately (maybe two boots later) random slots on the CERC would not register a drive, and then the stripe set would fail (of course). all of this quite random as no particular condition would trigger the failure... sometimes it worked... sometimes it did not.

anyway... for my 300gig drives i have decided to remove the CERC controller shipped with the machine . i now have a Promise "SATAII150 TX4" installed in the 32bit PCI interface, and all is working as it should.
