Change Perc Controller
Hi,
I have a R730 with Part number: 405-AAEG : PERC H730 Integrated RAID Controller, 1GB Cache now. If I want to repurpose my server to run vsan, I will need HBA330.
Can i get a HBA330 and swap with the H730? Someone told me that Integrated RAID controller is the type that onboard and we can't take out and swap with other perc controller, it that true?

Hello,
The controller you have is a daughter card. It's not on-board in the sense of being integrated into the motherboard. You can install an HBA330, and there are both PCI and minicard designs.
