Convert Raid 0 to Raid1
Hi Folks,
I have a PE6600 with Perc 4/DC with a Raid 0 2 x 36Gb for the first 2 drives.
Do you know how easy/or is it possible to convert this to Raid 1. mirroring.
I have bought additional drives to help in this process as this is a critical server.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A raid 0 of 2 drives has the data spread out over 2 drives, so the usable space is twice that of the smallest of the 2 drives.
A raid 1 will only have the space of a single drive, as the 2nd drive is an exact copy.
So you obviously cannot change "2 x disk size" to fit in "1 x disk size".
Depending on your raid controller, you could convert from a 2-disk raid 0 to a 3-disk raid 5, or to a 4-disk raid 1/0 (mirroring the existing 2 raid 0 disks to 2 additional disks).
