Stefan,

Wow, I can only guess at what might be the problem here, setting up an unattended mass install is a bit beyond anything I've had to deal with, However... we do have NOS experts that can assist you for a fee.

I can say that the load order of the drivers is important, the first mass storage driver installed must be the one for the PERC. You're specifying to use the entire RAID drive for the partition, if this size exceeds something a bit under 2 Tb, you could have problems due to size, and older PERC 4 controllers have a 2TB limit on the raid array size.

Perhaps some of the folks on the software forum can give you an answer.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

its much less than 2 TB - only a 80 GB or something.

i tried the LSI drivers - but still the same.

it seems as if it couldnt find the txtsetup.oem - as i always get the same message.
although my folderstructure is right.

- Images
-- Name
---i386
----$oem$
-----$1
------drivers
-------....
-----textmode (files are here)
---Mirror1
---Templates

is there anything special to include to the riprep.sif?
i got all the drivers path, oempreinstall and oembootfiles and of course the massstorage drivers with the txtsetup.oem entry.

all done, as far as all the books say.

please help.
thanks
stefan

hi Stefan,

Please look at microsoft technet article# 816299

Looks like you might have the wrong path to the drivers.

Hi Stefan.

  :\I386\$OEM$\Textmode\Txtsetup.oem

I think the article is saying to create a drive letter at the \images\name  folder so that the path will always be X:\I386\$OEM$\Textmode\Txtsetup.oem.

You might be able to set a path statement in a autoexec.bat file
path=X:\images\name.

Hello Gary,

when i get you right, you mean i should create a directory named "X:"? thats not possible.

no, the article says to create an $oem$ directory under the images\"Name"\i386 directory. as i did. i read more than 10 different articles all over the internet. everyone says more or less the same.

i tried all these solutions but all with the same ending.

thats why i am so frustrated.

But thanks for your answer!!

Hello Stefan,

Actually you can create a drive letter at a folder... look at the map network drive tool, it will let you create a drive letter at any folder. Of course you'll have to set up the permissions and policies so that the system to be rebuilt can see and access it.

Another option is to provide a "fully qualified" path which would include the system name, drive letter and folders to navigate to the folder you need.
