Dell PE6850 Cannot boot
Hi ,
I have Dell PE6850 Server, today i power on server its boot normaly after one hour it hanged. I restart server but it cannot boot from disks it goes to PXE boot then give messege that Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. I restart again and find that it cannot dislay RAID Controller informaion on screen and again goes to PXE boot then i find that it cannot find RAID Controller. I enter to BIOS and find in Integrated Device That Embended RAID Controller in OFF. I Enable RAID but it goes to SCSI device it cannot goes to RAID Controller. There is a onboard RAID Controller PERC 4e/Di. What should I do?

I have seen this if the scsi backplane has a problem or if the romb key is no longer seen by the system. I suggest reseating both. the romb key is in the back left corner of the system, probably under a riser. I would confirm the raid battery is ok as well.

Thanks for reply,
When it was ok, I boot the server it displays the RAID Informaion such as RAID model, RAM, Spining up drives and the drives that hendled by by the BIOS.
After occuring this issue, When it was hanged, I restart the server it cannot dislpay the RAID Information that I mentioned above, When I Enter BIOS by Pressing F2, I saw "Embadded RAID controller" is on "OFF" position in the "Integrated Device" in BIOS Setup option. I change to "RAID Enable" and restart server, it display messege "
"Warning
Detected mode change from SCSI to RAID on Channel A of the embadded RAID Subsystem.
Data loss will occur!
Pres to confrim the change press any other key to Cancel.
After press escape key it will go to display SCSI drives information and other information like NIC ,PXE, and then give the same messege "Strike F1 to continue and F2 to system Utility"
After restarting server and Enter to BIOS I saw It changed From RAID controller to SCSI where I change Embedded RAID Controller from OFF to RAID Enable in Integrated Device of the BIOS option
Thanks.
What is happend with the Server, Weather The RAID controller is gone bad or it desable somewhere?

If you are POSITIVE that you had it in RAID mode before the crash, then you can ignore the "data loss" message when switching from SCSI back to RAID. Press Y (no Escape) to accept the change, then check CTRL-M to see if your drives/arrays are online, and/or see if it is now able to boot to the OS.
