DELL PERC 755 to HBA Mode
I have dell R7615 Server which has PERC 755 and PERC355 Controller Card, I need to install Nutanix which is only supported on HBA-355i / Passthrough mode. I want to know that can we convert PERC755 mode to HBA mode. What is the best way to achive that installation.

Hi,
Unfortuantely PERC H755 would not be able to be configured as HBA mode or Passthrough mode. Though, PERC H755 can set each drive as Non-RAID disk, but it will not perform as well as HBA as the card sits in the data path, and it's not pure HBA mode. Also, I do not have documentation that Nutanix will be compatible with PERC H755 as OS driver will be needed.

The Dell PERC H755 does not support HBA mode. It is designed as a hardware RAID controller and lacks an official option to switch to pure HBA (IT) mode. If you need HBA functionality (for Storage Spaces Direct, ZFS, or similar), Dell recommends using a dedicated HBA card such as the Dell HBA355.
