Dell Poweredge R410 wont detect new HDD
Hello,
I have Dell R410 server, which one hdd failed. I bought a new one, but it is not recognized. In OMSA log there is some information:

I updated server firmware with latest bootable cd, but the results are still same.

Hello.
The hard drive in question looks like a non-Dell certified drive. It is not able to communicate with the Dell controller and thus unrecognized. Consider using Dell certified drives for smooth operations.

It should be dell drive. It is with dell logos and everything.

Based on then information provided, the drive is not compatible with R410 server. What is the specification of the original drive so that I may provide you with P/N of a compatible drive.

Try this Dell P/N T873K for 600GB SAS 15K RPM hard drive just like one listed above.
