Dell Poweredge R620 adding Hardisk question
Dear All,
I have a Poweredge R620 server, i'm planning to install up to 6 x HD into the server, just wonder is the below hardisk compatible in this server ? and this server is running as Esxi 6.7, after i installed the hardisk into, how do i configure Raid 1 for these hardrive ? i need to do it in Bios ? also for the Hardrive where i can buy the hardrive tray ? any help would be appreicated

Below are the part number of 900GB 15K 2.5inch SAS drives supported in PowerEdge R620. What controller you have on the server? If you have a PERC controller, you can either use iDRAC or PERC Configuration utility during POST to create RAID 1.

These are the part numbers for the carrier and screws:
Pn# KG7NR - ASSY,CARR,HD,SAS-SATAU,2.5,V3
Pn# R9445 - SCR,M3X.05X4.5MM,FLH,MSCR,ZPS (you will need 4 screws)
The R620 supports up to VMware ESXi 6.5

Configure the RAID in the controller BIOS + in POST when the PERC initializes.

may i ask for R620, there is 2 types, which is 8 bays and 10 bays ? as i see our customer's server i only see 4 bays availalbe, and one last question, can R620 install 1.2TB SAS ?

PowerEdge R620 only support 8bay and 10 bay chassis. You can refer below link for details. Can you share the picture of the server and part# of backplane where you are seeing 4 bay only?

Sorry. It was my mistake. R620 support X4 2.5 backplane. In the link I provided it is captured as "2.5 inch (x4) SAS/SATA backplane"
