Drive not recognized as self-encrypting
Hi,
I have 4 x 400GB SSD SAS drives in my Dell R730. Spec below:
Manufacturer: Toshiba
Product ID: PX05SMB040Y
Revision: AS03
Part no: PH05VHHGTB30073J09ACA00
The PERC H730P controller does not recognize the drives as self-encrypting capable, however the vendor's documentation states the drives are SED capable (toshiba.semicon-storage.com/.../px05smbxxx.html). Does anyone have any experience with these specific drives and can perhaps confirm if these drives should be SED capable? I am just worried I am missing a driver or something simple.
Thank you!

Hi Robert,
The part number is 5VHHG and it is a Dell certified drive.
Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback Robert. Is it possible to extract a list of a few part numbers that are perhaps SED capable (and 2,5" SSD SAS MLC) and will be compatible with my RAID controller (PERC H730P)?
