Errors uninstalling perc2 agent and perc cli

After recovering from a near disasterous raid mirror failure, I was advised by Dell support to upgrade to system manager 4.5.

The installation program complains about old software and will not install.

After viewing messages on this board, I have determined that I still have Perc 2 Agent and Perc CLI installed which needs to be uninstalled before I can install the new System Manager 4.5.

When I try to uninstall EITHER, I get the error message " “You must install API kit before installing this software – contact Dell Support”

I have tried installing the API and almost killed my box as I deleted the controller drivers in the windows directory and had to boot from the windows disk to get the server booting on its own again.

Both pieces of software still will not uninstall, I did uninstall the API kit but I am back to square one.

How can I clear the way for installation of SM 4.5?
