external sata controller

Hi,

we have the PowerEdge SC 1420 in service in our company. We don't really use the server anymore. Just for testing of applications etc..
I want to convert the server to a backup server with basic functions.

But i would like to use eSata with hot swap. Then i found this post.

According to this post that eSata with hot swap doesn't really work. The recommendation is to buy an external sata controller at my own risk.
Can anyone recommend me an external sata controller that work with the PowerEdge SC 1420. The pci-express slots aren't in use.
