Tru updating the disk firmware, that may help. There's an iso on the support page under your server. Burn it to cd and boot from it.

Hello and thank you for your responce

Here is what we try :

- We update the firmware of the controller : Pass

- We try to update the firmware of the disks : The update progress starts but in the middle we receive an error msg (failed). However when we reboot the server and try to make a disk test first it says that the disk(s) are already updated with the latest fw and test Pass

- After we see that the update progress has been succesfully finished, we try to create a new raid. But we still get the same results. The disks are not responding (going offline)

Finally we try to clear and create a new raid with 2 other disks (73Gb Scsi). We never get an error and never face a problem and the raid created succesfully.

As we can understand, the problem is on the disks. Is there any way to investigate if the disks are destroyed or not?

Are the Maxtor 300's Dell co-branded drives?  What is the current firmware on them?  Non-Dell co-branded drives have been known to cause problems as they do not have the specific firmware loaded on them to all the drives to properly interact with the commands from the controller.  That would explain why the firmware update failed as well.

in the downloads and drivers for your server look in the diagnostic section for 32 bit diags. With this program you can create various bootable diags media. Boot from your choice and you can run full disk diags.
