Foreign drives

Question

I have a Dell Poweredge 2900 III server and it has stopped the boot up process because it says that the Zero drive is foreign. Of course the Zero drive contains Windows 2008 Enterprise so we can't boot it up using the operating system. The system has a 5/i LSI controller card in it. Can anyone tell me step by step how to get this thing going again. The systems can see the drives. John Cargill

Is this a RAID 0 or a RAID 5?  With RAID 5, you should still be able to boot up if a single drive shows as Foreign.  With a RAID 0, if you lose a single disk, the whole array is gone.  Do you have the option to simply 'continue' booting?

theflash1932. Cleared the drive of foreign designation. Still won't recognize boot drive. Show ready but not on line. Need to take it to online.

Boot to CTRL-R what EXACTLY does it say on EACH of the screens (VD, PD, CTRL, Foreign MGMT)?  Pictures or exact text.

When I get into the Controller Mgmt I can see group 0, 1 virtual disk 0 and 1. Zero show ready 1 shows online. What next?
