Now, you mentioned BIOS RAM, key, and battery, but I just want to be sure we're on the same page.  Embedded RAID requires three things before it can be enabled:

  1. RAID Memory (single memory connector above 6 system memory slots, next to RAID key slot and SCSI connector)
  2. RAID Battery (left-hand side of the chassis, NOT the CMOS/coin battery)
  3. RAID Key (next to the SCSI connector on the motherboard, above the system memory)

Assuming you have all the pieces in place, you should have the option to change Embedded RAID controller to RAID Enabled (right/left arrow keys).  Generally, if one of the RAID pieces was missing, you would get an error during POST, such as RAID DIMM is missing, etc.  If you are  not getting any BIOS error message and all pieces are present , AND you have tried reseating all three RAID pieces AND the riser card itself ... you might try clearing the NVRAM using the jumpers on the motherboard.

ye thats the thing i don't have a option called embedded raid controller in bios, in intergrated device.  the only option i have is called "SCSI" and it just toggles between SCSI and OFF. i have triple checked the key, the stick of memory, and the battery (and yes the right stick and batery and key) i tried resenting cmos with the jumper and still nothing.  mem test returned 0 faults in memory, and the blue light shines in front meaning no problem, but i still can't get it to work.....

i have another one, but its not in a working condition at all, missing peices left and right. can this be cuase by a low raid battery? or would it give me a warning on it? i have taken everything out including tape drive pci, and disk drive, ans still nothing

Did this server always have the RAID controller in it?  or is that something that you added to it recently?  If you added it/upgraded it recently, what part numbers did you order/use?  I would assume that you'd get a BIOS error message if it was the wrong hardware, but maybe it's not recognizing it at all - or maybe its bad.  Do you have another 2600 or 2650?

Low RAID battery would definitely give a message.  It is your RAID key ... I just confirmed that without the RAID key, the system doesn't even care about the RAID memory/battery - it doesn't even look for them.  I just hooked up the RAID battery and RAID memory without the RAID key, and the system didn't stop/no messages at all.  It is not until you put in the key that the system starts to check for other RAID hardware.  If you have a RAID key from your other system, put it in.  If it doesn't work, your RAID key or slot is bad.

What I meant by "did it always have the RAID controller", is :  it was possible to order a 2600 withOUT the RAID hardware.  So, if it was ordered without RAID hardware, and you were attempting to "upgrade" to ROMB, the parts you used to upgrade could play a part in why it was not working.

ye i think i have the problem, i took a closer look and found out that one row of fix is missing the outermost pin in the mobo, is it supposed to be like that or is that my problem?

Yes, that is by design ... the connector is "keyed" so you can't put the card in wrong.

"one row of fix is missing the outermost pin in the mobo"

I'm sorry ... I didn't get from that what you are seeing :)  You have a picture or a better description?
