Initialize additional RAID array?
Hi,
I have plugged in two 300GB SAS disks in our 2950. I configured these as an addional RAID 1 array and I started to initialize. I noticed that it will take around 3 hours to complete. I only had a 30 minute maintenance window so I restarted the server. (I'm not using the new array.)
Should I initialize this array during the weekend before I use it? What does this initialize actually do?

Wil it run in the background when I start it and then reboot? Is the fast option also available in the configuration utility that can be started just after power on? I did not notice it in the utility.
