Internal/external Array configs

Is it possible to use 2 of the internal drives on a Poweredge 2650 with the integrated RAID Controller and use the other 4 drive bays on an additional PERC4 RAID Controller card which also has an external RAID box connected to it? What I would like to do is the following:

First Array - 2 internal drive bays - on the integrated RAID Controller card.

Second Array - Remaining 4 internal drive bays + all the drives in an external box.

 

Any help much appreciated.

Dont think so.  First.... 4 drive bays?  The 2650 has 5 drive bays.  You can order a split backplane daughtercard.... and get a 2+3 config.  This would allow a RAID1 on the first two drives, plus a raid5 on the remaining 3.... but all connected to the PERC3Di.  It might be possible to connect the latter part of the backplane to another controller, but why?  It is not adviseable to create a single array across two channels of an add-in PERC card, when that array spans multiple backplanes like this.  Asking for trouble IMHO.
