Moving PERC 3/DC and drive array

Question

Hi all,

Is it possible to move a PERC 3/DC and it's attached storage to another server without any data loss? We currently have a file server that's kind of flaking out and would like to move it's attached storage to another server. If this is possible are there any gotchas to be concerned with.

Providing you have drivers for that RAID card preinstalled in the new server, it should work. But to be safe check with Dell tech support.

Hi hemerich,   We were successful in moving the array and the perc over to a new server.  I did contact Dell tech support after our 1st attempt which didn't go over too well.  As an FYI, just make sure that you reconnect everything the same way it was in the original server when you move the perc and powervault over to the new server.
