needing help (who does'nt)

 

 

Posted this on the wrong message board......Probably my eyes, anyway here it is:

 

Well i had a Cheetah U320 dying on me. So i bougth another one. Since my Dell PE2600 is in a small place i cannot get the drive out "hot swap", needing to shut down, then moving the server, then changing drives, restart. You get the picture.

 

All went well, but there i am loosing it....

 

1) i do not know if the Raid10 is reconstructing automaticly since Windows 2000 says "NOTHING".

2) so i did a shutdown, went into the webbios and made the rebuild manually

3) all went nice, but i need to know if rebuild starts when disks are changed

4) then the day after a second one died on me. How nice

 

Can anyone answer here what the right way is to do this. I mean the swapping?

 

 

Secondly, i want to alter the Perc4 (activate the read in the cache), but i do not know how to do this anymore, since it has been 3 years since i was playing with this.

 

If anyone knows the answers, please go for it.
