OpenManage Array Manager firmware report differ from Device manager.

Hi,

We have a PowerEdge 2500 running Windows server 2000. After upgrading OpenManage array manager to 4.3 (application version 3.7.0). The array manager utility report that the PERC3/DI version is 2.7.0(3153)/6076 but it requires 2.8.0(6092)/6076.
The Device manager reports that the PERC3/DI device driver version is 2.8.0.6085.

The Device manager does not report any errors, the OpenManage Array manager displays the caution triangle on the PERC3 device, and the application can not hold the connection to the server, and needs to be re connected.

Our users are reporting that takes a long time to download files (other network downloads seem to be fine), could that discrepancy cause delays in downloading files? In any case how does one go about fixing this error?

Thanks,

Dov

Hi Doobie,

Two ways to resolve this are to either down rev the driver, or flash the controller firmware up.

Look here for the firmware, you have 3 options on how you want to flash it, instructions are on the site.

Hi Gary,

Thanks. I have update the Driver, which went well. However I was not able to update the firmware, first I needed to update the BIOS which went well, but the firmware update will not go through. I get an error that to update has failed and to reboot the computer and try again. No other error suggestions. That did not work.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dov
