The array data is stored on the controller and drives, so the battery being gone shouldn't have an effect on the array. The battery for the controller is for writing cache data, not to retain the array configuration. The battery part number is 1K240.
I changed the battery out on the server and now I can't get the battery charge count to reset. I'm using OpenManage v 5.5 and I thought that feature was built in to reset the count. Am I missing something or is there another way to do this?
In Open Manage, highlight the controller. Then in the drop down you should see "counter reset" in the menu. If not, what is the controller Driver and Firmware listed as?
