PE2500 SCSI disk not recognized

I've added three 147GB u320 disks to a system with 3 existing 16GB disks and they aren't recognised properly, they show up in the scsi config utility but when i try to initialise them i get "Unexpected SCSI Command Failed"

I've swaped them into an almost identical pe2500 with no disks and they're fine, i can create a container!

the only difference i can gather is they're in a systme with three existing u160 drives and the backplane firmware is slightly older in the failing system 1.29 as apposed to 1.32 (i've updated the firmeware on the controller to 2.8 and the bios on the system to A07, has anyone got any suggestiions?

Please Please Please respond,

Many thanks,
Graeme.

Updated the ESM to 1.32 NO HELP
Tried removing an existing drive and inserted the new drive did NOT start to rebuild onto the new drive.

Why is this a problem on ALL THREE disks but when i remove them and place them into an identical PE2500 they initialise correctly and i can create a volume with any issues!!

Please please help!!!

Cheers,
Graeme.
