PERC 3/DC
A red light that is part of a surface mount component on our server's PERC 3/DC SCSI RAID controller (LSI model Elite 1600) will sometimes light and the server fails to boot. The red light continues to glow even after removing the PERC card from the PCI slot. Reseating the PERC controller and starting the server will cause the light on the controller to go out and the server to start. What does this red light indicate? How can I get the server to start without having the to reseat the PERC RAID controller?

Sounds like the IRQ sharing has cause a conflict. If your bios has the ability to steer IRQs, then change the IRQ the raid card uses or the IRQs other device use in the server. NIC interfaces sometimes will cause this if they use the same IRQ as the raid cards.
If the bios does not have this ability, if possible, move the raid card to a different slot.
