PERC H330 Mini cannot rebuild RAID

Hello,

I have problem with RAID on my R430 server with PERC H330 Mini controller. Until recently everything works ok. I have RAID1 with two Seagate branded by Dell ST1000NM0033 P/N: 9ZM173-136. But one of drives broke down and i cannot buy exactly same model but i've buy exactly same model ST1000NM0033 but branded by Seagate with P/N: 9ZM173-003.

When i've inserted the brand new drive controller after few seconds of rebuilding said - fail!

When I inserted another drive 1TB civlilian WD green it automaticaly rebuilds with no problem!

Is this drive black listed by Dell? I've upgraded everything on server. BIOS, and raid firmware to 25.5.9.0001 but without success.

I've tried with another Seagate with same result...

I cannot use wd green in server environment... it's not a solution.

Hello,

that is very strange, as to make a rebuild fail maybe there is an issue in the new hard drive. Did you test it with a diagnostic tool?

Thanks

Marco

Yes, I am 100% sure it's brand new drive. I connected it to my pc and read smart - it show all is ok.

If an hardware diagnostic asserts that there are no error on the hard drive, then yes it could be a compatibility issue but there are no solution about this.

Thanks

Marco
