Problem with Dell Perc 4e

hey guys,

I've got a Dell Perc 4e but I'm running into some problems now. By the way, I'm not running a Dell server, but I'm using a an Intel C2D E6300 with an Asus P5WDG2 WS Pro motherboard.

I just got a 256mb ECC ram for my Dell Perc 4e. But I can't seem to get it to work. I can go into the SCSI controller's BIOS and configure the array, but sometimes I can go pass the Perc 4e's POST, sometimes I can't.

So, I went on to download the latest BIOS from Dell's website. I tried to flash the firmware but it detects no image to update. The current firmware is H430 Build Feb 25, 2005.

Please advice. Thank you.

Try to update the firmware when the card is in a supported Dell Poweredge server to see if that works.

I would like to, but I do not have any access to any Dell PowerEdge servers
