Proper RAID Setup on Controller - RAID Shared across two PERC 6/i Connectors
I purchased a PE R710 recently with a factory setup of RAID - 1 and RAID - 5 with a Perc 6/i Controller.
When I look in the Server Administrator under the PERC 6/i Controller it shows under Connector 0 only 1 disk but Connector 1 Shows 4 disks.
Does this matter?
Also I had a quick question about allocating unused diskspace. On my older servers there is a Dell OpenManage Array Manager in Windows Computer Management. On my new servers I only see Windows native Disk Management.
Do we use Windows to allocated diskpace or does is OpenManage Array Manager or something similiar available?
TIA.

This is perfectly fine and unless you move drives around in the slots it's not even changeable.

Arrray Manager is no longer used (and not supported on newer servers) ... use OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA):
