What I usually recommend to people it to disable, then re-enable the Lifecycle controller, which can be done through command line.

racadm set LifecycleController.LCAttributes.LifecycleControllerState 0

That will disable the controller. You can then run:

racadm set LifecycleController.LCAttributes.LifecycleControllerState 1

To turn it back on. There is a third state, 2, which corresponds to recovery mode.

Hello and801,

The LCC typically can go into recovery mode if it fails update or incomplete firmware update or a faulty component.

Enter: Avago EFI SAS Driver PERC H730 Mini, check any information displayed. It should prompt you to enter a character 'Y' will work and hit enter. Check what comes up next

To get the LifeCycle Controller out of Recovery Mode:

-boot to F2 -> System Setup -> iDRAC Settings -> Lifecycle Controller to check status

-Choose: Lifecycle Controller set to Enabled

-Collect System Inventory on Restart set to Enabled.

-Cancel Lifecycle Controller Actions set to Yes.

UEFI0116 is most common a disk drive issue.

Run diagnostics and update drivers and firmware for storage chain: PERC, backplane, hard drives

To run diagnostics:

Boot to  F11 on Dell Splash screen, selecting  Boot Manager -> System Utilities -> Launch Dell Diagnostics.  Note any messages and continue testing.

Hi,

try this if this doesn´t work in my opinion the LCC is defective.

https://dell.to/2VvFKgn

Because the recovery state failure should be gone after the 2 steps.

If you have only no bootable drives found than please check the Raid Controller again.

good day Martin, again many thanks for a prompt reply. do you think defective LCC might have an impact on data consistency/RAID 5 ?

good day Martin, good day Charles

many thanks for your hints (!)

system booted up.

life controller is still in "recovery mode" I guess, but your hints allowed me to enter the BIOS setup (F2 key). and I found there a kind of mismatch (no idea how it happened). actually boot mode was "BIOS" instead of "UEFI" (as windows server is a HOST OS). wrong boot mode was probably one of the reasons system could not boot up. anyway without your help I would be still nowhere.

THANKS.

How do you get to a command line to run this? I'm also getting the above UEFI0116 error and can't open the lifecycle controller or any of the other F key options during boot. When I press a key on the error screen, the driver health manager screen where you say to select the raid controller never loads. I'm not sure how to proceed
