Sounds like you needed to provide controller drivers to your backup software. RAID must be configured before the restore. The SAS 6 supports both RAID and non-RAID, and they are not interchangeable or inter-compatible.
Thank you for responding and please forgive my ignorance but you are saying that if I configure a raid 1 with two new disks and clone the current single disk to one of the new blank raid disks and then reinstall the new cloned raid disk into the server it will not work, correct?
