Since you mentioned "OS-managed RAID", do this instead of using the stupid S100 controller:

• Turn off RAID in the BIOS so you can use the disks with the onboard SATA/AHCI controller (will disable S100 functionality).
• Each drive will be seen as they would on most workstations - as individual drives.
• Install OS on disk 0.
• Once OS is installed, then configure RAID in the OS (Windows = Disk Management, convert disks to Dynamic, then create mirror).
