After you created the second RAID 0 with drive 1, is it visible in Disk Management?  You may have to write a signature to the drive before you can use it.

thanks for your reply.  No the second disk does not show in drive management, that was the first place I looked as I expected it to show up.

managed to correct my mistake, although I had created a VD for disk 0 I had to go back and create another VD for Disk 1, this has resolved the problem.
