Replacing both drives in RAID1 array
We have a server with a RAID1 array (boot) and RAID5 array (data).
Both RAID1 drives have failed (it was on a customers site and one died last year without anyone noticing and now the other dies after about 5 mins of use).
I can reinstall the OS but what is the best way to set up the RAID1 drives again in the PERC BIOS?
I don't want to risk copying any bad sectors from the semi-functioning old drive to the new drives so do I guess I just replace both drives?
I don't want to risk damaging the data on the RAID5 array.
Dell Poweredge T420
RAID controller details:
Product name: PERC H710
Package: 21.2.0-0007
FW Version: 3.130.05-2086
BIOS Version: 5.38.00_4.12.05.00_0x5260000
Boot Block Version: 2.03.00.00-0004

Hello
I suggest running diagnostics before re-using a drive that failed. When you create a virtual disk one of the options is initialization. You must choose if you want to perform a full initialization or not. If you perform a full initialization on the virtual disk it will write zeroes to the drives, this is data destructive.
