I've been trying to figure out the difference between the failed drive and the new one. I noticed the old one was screw'ed into the slide out tray. I applied the srews and it went in better and the lights have come on. I now see the lights flashing and I see amber lights, which I hope that means it is sychronizing now.

Looks like you figured it out.  Probably by the time you read this it will have rebuilt the array but if it's still blinking, you can check it's status from the OpenManage application (if you have it installed).

You may also see events in the System Event Log even if you don't have OpenManage.

I think it worked fine, but would like confirmation.

I've looked in the System Event Log but don't see anything relevent there.

Is OpenManage cost extra?

No, OpenManage is included with your system.  Not knowing which machine you have, click on the Drivers and Downloads icon to the left and navigate through picking your server and operating system.  You'll get a list of downloads.  OpenManage is under System Management,
No Events found!
