Server T130 Mass Storage Function

Hello!
T130 server is missing Mass Storage Function drivers.
What could it be? All drivers installed from the manufacturer's website.

I am experiencing this same issue but on an R320. The issue arose after updating the iDRAC firmware to 2.52.52.52 with the Windows executable. I rebooted the system after the install, confirmed it applied successfully. The BIOS version at the time of the iDRAC update was 2.4.2. I then proceeded to update the BIOS to 2.5.1 with the Windows executable. However, the update would always fail with "Error code Execution Status: Creation of Dynamic Partition Failed. USB support may be disabled." Now any firmware update attempt from in Windows no longer works, failing with that same error. Even attempting the iDRAC update again results in that error.

Uninstalling the devices from device manager doesn't help, they reappear after a restart or triggering a hardware scan. I managed to update the BIOS and re-flashed iDRAC from within the Lifecycle controller at boot; done successfully. Yet these "Mass Storage Function" devices persist. I've confirmed that no GPOs are in place that would block creation or use of USB or virtualized storage devices. The same GPOs apply to some R330 servers and I have not experienced this issue on those when I updated iDRAC and the BIOS last week.

Note: I'm not trying to hijack this thread. I'm adding to the conversation in hope OP get's a response and in turn some useful information for myself.

I am experiencing the same issue on a R730XD after upgrading the IDRAC Firmware. I just got off the phone with tech support and it is a glitch with the latest 2.52.52.52 version. They assured me there is nothing actually wrong and should be no performance issues. They are working on releasing a new update soon.

PE R730 13G ...... Same issue.  I ruled out all USB and SD Card Ports (Dual internal and all External),  Was going to start baking up the recent firmware and version updates I had done over the last couple of days until I found this thread.  Since that is the most likely cause, I'll patiently for Dell to address the issue ... I can't report any issues other than the missing driver notification in device manager so far.  If that changes I will report, otherwise will keep checking back on the thread for updates from you folks as well.  Thanks ... /jim

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0624:0251 Avocent Corp. Virtual Mass Storage
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0624:0249 Avocent Corp. Virtual Keyboard/Mouse
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0624:0248 Avocent Corp. Virtual Hub

A key feature provided by the Avocent Digital Access KVM module is virtual  media, which all ows administrators to remotely connect a mass storage device to a server and use the device as if it were present on the server. Like the remote console, virtual media uses hardware to emulate USB devices with native USB mass storage drivers, helping  ensure  no  other drivers  are  necessary.  Virtual media is accessed via the DRAC/MC interface.

This issue comes with idrac version 2.52.52.52. Dell Support told me that it will be fixed with the next release. No performance or stability problems.

As a temp fix, revert to the older version 2.50.50.50 until Dell fixes this.

R730 16bay on latest (May 2018) Idrac/Lifecycle controller firmware 2.52.52.52 (Build 12) has the same issue in device manager windows 2016, mass storage Function with yellow exclamation mark next to it x 2.

BIOS 2.7.1

All latest drivers and firmware from DELLs site as far as i am aware, server seems to work ok, it has 4 x 800GB SATA SSD (DELL THNSF8800CCSE) drives in RAID5  one volume.
