Testing RAID
We would like to test our RAID 1 (sata drives) on our Poweredge Server (1800). If pulling one hard drive to simulate failure, does the rebuild/rejoin happen upon just adding the hard drive back in?

Hi,
Well that's why you test isn't it? To establish procedures for recovering from a drive failure.
With SATA you do not have a hot swap ability, so you have to down the server to do your testing, and yes it SHOULD see the drive reappear after the power up rescan and should start a rebuild. Not all real world incidents are so simple, so get the management utility of your choice dusted off, and go thru starting a rebuild manually, it may be the only time you get the luxury of having the down time to use the utilities and learn and document the procedures.
