13th Generation OS deployment

I am having issues with alternate way to deploy Operating Systems.

During the 9th Generation days we use you use the SBUU (System build and update utility) to boot to for OS deployment as it had the RAID drivers for installing the OS.

SMTD (Systems Management Tools and Documentation) was also an option, as it was bootable and had the RAID drivers.

During the 11th Generation  when the Lifecycle controller was still a bit flaky, these two options were very viable.

With the 13th Generations, there is no SBUU listed that I can see on support.dell.com with any 13th Generations as compatible.  It seems 12th Generations were the last generation that the SBUU can use.

I went to download the SMTD, as that was listed, only to find out that it is not bootable.  I checked the installation instructions and it does not mention it is bootable like it does for the SBUU, although it says it has the SBUU included.

I wanted to see if there is any way to deploy the OS aside from manually putting the driver onto a flash drive or using the Lifecycle controller.  The Lifecycle controller has been flaky when updating the OS driver pack, although updating the latest DRAC versions seems to resolve it somewhat, I want to see if there is an actual bootable utility like the SBUU for 13th Generations.

Hello

The SBUU is EOL and there are no plans to make a similar utility. All servers 13G and later are planned to have deployment capabilities built in via utilities like the LCC.

The main reason for using a deployment utility for preloading drivers is to load the RAID driver. Most modern operating systems contain the necessary drivers for OS deployment, so if you don't want to use the LCC for deployment then your OS may contain the necessary drivers for hardware communication.

Thanks
