Accessing iDRAC

Hi,

this forum helped me to get http site running for the gui of the iDRAC. It is available via an internal ip of a LAN.

Thanks a lot....

Now I try to login according to this

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000133536/dell-poweredge-what-is-the-default-username-and-password-for-idrac

Our machine is in a remote LAN. So made a photos of the back site of the server. More precisely they dragged something out of the chassi and took a photo. The information is exactly like given in the above link. So I tried to login to the iDRAC with

user: root

password:    the IDRAC DEFAULT PASSWORD like shown on the photo (number 4 in the link)

But that never worked. Than I tried to open the QR-code on the same photo with my smartphone, which did not work. Can yo tell me how to log in ?

Best Thanks!

Best,

Johann

Good morning,

I would come at this from two avenues. The first is that I would test a secondary web browser. This doesn't resolve issues all the time, but browser issues are common enough that it's worth checking. You can also use the BIOS to manually configure a new password, so the possibility of a password issue can be removed. I'd also encourage trying to log into the iDRAC directly via an SSH session. This would give you another means of logging in separate from the web GUI and may help identify where the problem is occurring.
