Array Manager

Question

I have a PE1800 with a PeRC 4/sc. I install 'Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Version 4.5.0', after i install 'Dell OpenManage Management Station 4.5.0'. When I try to go to Programs>Dell Open Mange Applications>Array Manger>Array Manger Console , I get error message 'Array Manager server is not installed. You may need to reinstall Array Manager Server on this machine. ' I looked at all the downloads in the downloads section. Which one is it. Any suggestions humbly welcomed.

I am installing my openmanage software mainly for the raid management but evenually other features without paying for the subscript for now. I thought I read that some or most Perc are not support. I have the CERC-6. It is documented but don't remember which. Hope this helps.

Dell drop AM as a default Raid management software now its the Storage Management found with in Dell OpenManage Server Admin

Sounds like your driver is missing or bad. Try replacing the LSI Logic Perc 4/sc. You can find this on the Server and Diagnostic Untilies 4.5. This can be downloaded from Dell. Sorry for the delay. Business with clients and the holiday. Happy New Year.

Perc Firmware and Open manage are highly tied together. You need to make a checklist and update drivers and firmware in the right sequence. Backing up everything is always a good idea.

Running into this problem with a brand new, out of the box PE. Why am I not suprised that Dell ships a server that they know you have to screw with to get to work?

That is a good question at first when I did it too. I noticed there is a upgrade subscription option for user to get now. I elected not to do that at that time on my PE1800. I recently setup a PE1800 for my client and may elect to upgrade when the dust settles.
