Dell Open Manage Server Assistant CD reboot problem
Hi there,
I recently purchased a refurbished PoweEdge 2600 server with no OS. I booted using the DOSA CD that came with the server to install a test version of SBS 2000 with no problems. Now I need to reformat the drives and do a clean install of the SBS2000 so it can be put into production and I have not been able to boot from the DOSA CD. The CD starts to load gets to the point where it displays the blue screen displayin NT4 w/SP5 then indicates 'please wait while CD loads VCDRAM.........' and then reboots at this point everytime. Anyone seen this problem?
Sincerely
Tony R

Hi Tony,
I assume you converted the disk(s) to Dynamic? This rebooting problem is due in an incompatibility with the DOSA and Dynamic Disks.
Use the Perc 4/di BIOS Configuration Utility to delete the current array(s):
http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/storage/perc4di/en/ug/chapter4.htm#1052798
Then you can boot to the DOSA, which will recreate the array and allow the Operating System install to continue.
Complete documentation for the Perc 4/di can be found here:
http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/storage/perc4di/en/index.htm
