Installing Server 2012 R2 on a R620. H710 Raid Controller Driver does not work.

I'm trying to install Server 2012 R2 on a R620. I've downloaded the H710 Raid Controller driver from the Support website as well as used the Lifecycle controller OS deployment option. The Lifecycle controller provided the driver files in folder 0P5XV. The listed drivers to select are: Dell PERC Raid Virtual Device and PERC H710 Mini. Selecting either will give me a message saying, "No new devices detected." Can someone provide me the download link for the working R620 H710 driver?

What driver are you trying to use?  Server 2012 R2 should have native drivers for the H710:

Even if you do need/want to load additional drivers, the ZPE version of the 0P5XV driver file is what you would want, but you should not need them until after the OS is installed.

One thing to keep in mind, if you are sure you have an H710 controller, is that it does NOT support non-RAID.  It will ONLY present the configured RAID array(s) (VD(s)) to the OS, so even with the proper drivers, no disks will be seen to install to.  RAID is configured on the H710 in the CTRL-R utility during POST.

I was attempting to install the OS physically with a DVD and USB keyboard connection to the server. That did not work. Once I changed to the iDRAC with a virtual media DVD, the install worked fine.

That's not normal, but I'm glad you got it installed.
