Linux tools for PERC raid management
I have a Dell Poweredge 2300 that is our lab fileserver and webserver.
The server has dual Pentium III 600MHz 512MB RAM and 6x SCSI drives in a PERC 2 Raid 5 array.
Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: DELL Model: PERCRAID Volume Rev: V1.0
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: DELL Model: PERCRAID RAID5 Rev: V1.0
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
I am curious how I can monitor this array in Linux RedHat 7.3? Are there any grapical or commandline tools as in Windows NT and 2000? I would like to do this remotely so checking the lights on the front of the box or turning the computer off, and rebooting into the BIOS menu are not options.
Thanks for your help!

You might check in the /usr/bin directory or perform a search on your server for the tool called dellmgr. If you do not have that tool, you may download the rpm from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?releaseid=r44395&c=us&l=en&s=biz&cs=555. It should provide the functionality you are seeking.
I hope this information is helpful!

Please make sure to upgrade the server system bios to the latest version (A15) and the ESM to A40. Then upgrade the Perc 2 first to the latest Dell drivers and then firmware which are currently at 2.8.0. All of these updates are available at http://support.dell.com.
