Partition OS 2.00 GB FAT32 (System, Active, Primary Partition)

I hope someone can help me.

I purchased PowerEdge T30 without OS but it came with 1 TB HDD. Then I purchased a SSD and installed Windows Server 2012 std edition. Now I wanted to make a backup but there is OS 2GB FAT32 partition which is on the 1TB HDD that it does not allow me to make a backup. Moreover I removed the 2nd HDD and the computer does not start because the OS is within the 2nd HDD.

can you help me please

Hi,

Is there any data on that second drive? You can just delete all the partitions and create a new one if it is empty.

Thanks for your prompt response.

Yes, Disk 1 it is empty but When I wanted to make a backup to  Disk 1 using Windows Server Backup (WSB), it did not allow me because this FAT32 partition that recognize as THE OS. Yes, Sir I know that I can delete OEM Partition and OS 2.00 GB FAT32 Partition but before do that I wanted to make sure the computer will start up and I removed the Disk 1 and the computer couldn't find the OS. then I noticed that in order to start up the computer I must have disk 1 attached to it.

it is ODD because I installed  windows server 2012 standard edition into disk 0, which is a SSD. which is the OS but I don't see the System, Active, Primary Partition on disk 0.

I was thinking I shrink the disk 0 and move the partition fat32 to disk 0 will fix the issue but then If I want to make a backup wont work because of this partition.

Help me please

Thank you very much

Try disconnecting it and booting to the other drive with the boot menu. You probably would need to use a 3rd party partition tool to move it from one drive to the other.

You can move the 2GB OS FAT32 partition to the Disk 0 (SSD). For this task, if both the disk 0 and disk 1 are of MBR partition style, you can make use of the free aomei software to clone partition to the disk 0. It will transfer everything including the OS and related boot files to the destination disk so you can boot from it afterward. Then you can delete all partitions on the disk 1 and make a backup.
