PowerEdge 2400 Perc Timeout issues
Seems like I've seen this issue posted a few times, but no definitive answer.
Our PowerEdge 2400,, has all the latest drivers and is running Win 2003 Server Std. I am only running the Array Mgr. 3.5 and my event log keeps filling up with the following:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: afamgt
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4097
Date: 3/18/2004
Time: 8:30:35 AM

Description:

0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
There is no rhyme or reason in the pattern of these messages...nor does it seem to effect the performance. I've tried running with both the Open Manager and Array Manager and running without any of the Dell software...however I still get these errors.
My raid setup is as follows:
Container One is (2) 18gig Seagate drives 15000rpm raid 1
Container Two is (3) 36gig Maxtor drives 10000rpm raid 5
If anyone can offer some advice, tips, answers, etc....it would be appreciated!

I bypassed the onboard raid and mirrored the 18 gig drives in Windows Disk Managment. Did not install Array Manager.
Here is my new error message:
Event Type: Error

Date: 3/24/2004
Time: 9:34:04 PM
User: N/A
Computer: MAVFPS3
Description:
The device, \Device\Scsi\perc21, did not respond within the timeout period.

Mirrored the 36 gig drives and left the 18 gigs out...still same error message.
Is there an echo in here?
