PowerEdge t420 can't detect new HDD

Hi could you attach a screenshot or two of Physical Disk status on OMSA/BIOS?

All but one of the devices connected appear the same, save for one that is the optical drive unit. I don't know if the information requested should be somewhere else.

where the hard drives are connected ? There is a RAID controller? 

If so you have to see in the PERC BIOS to check .

You have to press CTRL R after the POST and before the OS boot

This is the result I get from this screen. I know it says "not supported", but if that were to be the case, there wouldn't be update packages for this exact HDD in the DELL support site.

Is the new drive from Dell? We seen such behavior when non Dell disks are used. Can you also check the LED status on the drive. You can check below link for details on drive LED status.

Hi, I agree with Shine for suspecting a non Dell disk. Can you send us a screenshot of how the disk is detected in RAID BIOS?

I previously attached a picture of how the status of the physical disk is displayed on the RAID BIOS. As for the LEDs, they are both on, green and not blinking.

If the hard drives are not Dell it is normal to have this behaviour, sorry
