Problem installing Server 2K3
I'm trying to re-install Server 2003 on my PowerEdge 1850, but I'm having no luck at all. I start with the setup assistant disk, which lets me set my raid level to 1, takes in a bunch of info for microsoft setup and then copies the entire Dell bundled Server 2003 disk to the hard drive. My boot parition is 25Gig so space should not be an issue.
The problem I'm having is that during the 2K3 blue screen installation, the 'copying setup files' is rediculously slow. It cruises along until it hits 65%, then it gets about 1 file every 5 minutes if it can find the file at all. I have no idea whats going on or how to speed up the installation. The Server 2003 disk looks fine and has no scratches. Has anyone had this problem?

you can try to install win2k3 without an assistant disk.
just prepare a diskette with drivers for your SCSI harddisks. and during installation win2k3 install this drivers (F6).
