Rack Servers/Dedicated/Web Hosting Server Etc.

Hello, i'm new to these forums so i have no idea where to post this but i picked here.
I would like to know how to figure which server is good for Web Hosting and how to figure how much Bandwidth and Space the server will have. Also if it will be easy to upload or place a Web Hosting Programs such as Cpanel, Plesk etc. on it.

We use Dell 2650 for the shared hosting environment.  You can get away with a lower powered server for a dedicated but only if the customer doesnt have big mailing lists (big = 20,000 messages per hour)
 
webhostingtalk.com has a hardware forum and you can talk to veteran hosting company owners.
