SATA controller drivers for Windows Server 2008

Hi,

When I want to install  Windows Server 2008 on Dell PowerEdge sc430, installation cannot recognize hard drives and asks for mass storage driver. I cannot find these drivers on Internet, so can anybody tell where can I find it?

Thank you

Marjanovic,

2008 isn't currently a supported OS due to age of system. That's not saying it won't install, it just isn't tested on the SC430.
How are you installing? Are you using any Dell disks?

This is a link to a 3rd party site with a 2008 driver for the 39320 SCSI controller.

Since it isn't supported I am not showing a 2008 driver provided by Dell.

Are you using a RAID controller in this system, or are the drives connected to the onboard ports?

The SC430 doesn't support the use of hardware based raid controllers. Being SATA drives, they have to go to the board.

Although the D&D site doesn't provide a driver for it, from this, it appears as though there is a possibility that it could be configured with a CERC SATA 6:

Chances are greater though that they are indeed attached to the onboard SATA ports, so assuming that you have not tried to add a RAID controller, you will need to use this driver for the Intel E7230 chipset.  When Windows says it can't find any drives to install to, click the Load Driver link, and browse to these drivers on a USB flash drive or CD:
