Upgrading OpenManage software cannot uninstall old version

I have a Dell Poweredge 2600 running Server 2003.  I am adding 2 more drives to the array and I want to upgrade my software per the Server update utility.  After completing that step, the last thing I needed to do was update to OpenManage 5.2. When I run that application, it tells me to uninstall the old version (3.4) but when I select it in add/remove programs and then select the Open Manage software, and then click on remove, it goes white for 1 second and then returns with no results. No Add/remove programs window---nothing happens.  I also have a ghost drive from not doing the software updates first but I will deal with that after I get the new software in.  Why am I unable to remove the old OpenManage software????

This issue was finally resolved by Enterprise server group.  OpenManage 5.2 has a "cleaner" that is loaded to the folder that the program is extracted to.  Use of that utility will clean out all of the old array manager software.

It is most likely you have the old Array Manager utility installed. Newer OpenManage versions do not support Array Manager any longer and use Storage Services (OMSS) instead, to manage storage arrays. You have to manually uninstall Array Manager, if installed.
